For economic reasons that make no economic sense whatever, Antelope Valley College are closing programs and firing both deans and teachers to make their budget objectives rather than targeting the bureaucratic wastes and cutting salaries of do-nothing administrators. My class may be on the chopping block as well: http://www.adultedreg.com/avc/index.cfm?processtype=department&deptid=11042#ac_175584
Even after several people have registered for the class and paid the fees.
They need to listen to their faculty and keep the most competent deans and teachers, not terminate them to get new cheaper and often incompetent teachers and non-union teachers. They have not partnered with either Edwards AFB nearby, the companies located at AF Plant 42, or the other Aviation related companies in this area. They have been here 86 years and still have not sufficiently reached out to the community companies. The Community Services unit has only been here less than 5 years, and they want to close it, this is insane! Can anyone help? see: www.avc.edu
